THE CLOCKWORK PROFESSOR

Written By Maggie Lee

Directed by Gavin Reub

August 1-4, 2024

Seattle Public Theater and the Seattle Public Education Department are excited to announce The Clockwork Professor by Maggie Lee. This production is cast with teens and produced by professional Seattle theater artists, including director Gavin Reub.

About the Show:

Professor Pemberton is a humble inventor, a quiet man of science. As political unrest sweeps over the great city of New Providence, buried secrets from his past threaten to destroy everything that he holds dear, and perhaps even the Crown itself. From romance to royal airships to roving inter-dimensional portals, join up with The Clockwork Professor in this action-packed adventure of fantastical science fiction with a steampunk twist!

Congrats to Our 2024 Youth Cohort!

Congratulations on two incredible readings, at Seattle Public Theater and Seattle Rep! Thanks for creating these amazing stories and working all year with us!

Seattle Public Theater is honored to become the home of the Youth Voices program. In this third year of the program, Youth Voices hosted its own public reading on March 25th at Seattle Public Theater. Additionally, they performed at Seattle Repertory Theatre’s Youthfest on June 1st.

In the Youth Voices program, participants go through the process of making a personal story into a theatrical piece and develop an original work. Led by Education Director Jenn Ruzumna, and mentors including, Zoé Shields, Indira Rampersad, Maggie Lee, Lisa Every, Joy McCullough, Angela Russell and Producing Artistic Director Amy Poisson, this series includes one-on-one weekly meetings, group workshops, and guidance throughout the process of sculpting an original work.
