Advisories, Accessibility & FAQ

Seattle Public Theater Accessibility

While our building at Seattle Public Theater follows current ADA regulations, it may have varying levels of accessibility for patrons. To reserve accessible seating or find out specific details, please do one of the following:

Please note that at this time we have a minimal box office staff and we appreciate your patience in our returning phone calls and emails.

Parking

There is an accessible paved pathway from the parking lot at Green Lake where disabled parking spots are readily available near the entrance of the path.

Should you require more direct access to our front door, please contact us prior to your visit. In special cases we can arrange for a patron to be dropped off at our front door.

Please Note: This option requires permission from the SPT Box Office, special directions on how to drive onto the path at Green Lake to our front entrance and a special pass. This option must be arranged with the Box Office with a minimum of 48 hours prior to your visit.

Public Transportation

The theater is easily accessible from the E line at Aurora and 76th, Or the E line at Wallingford and East Green Lake.

Entrances

All our entrances to Seattle Public Theater are ADA accessible. We have two ways of entering for audience seating: a mobility aid-friendly entrance on the right side of our lobby and a set of five stairs on the left of our lobby.

Seating

Seattle Public Theater has several selected seats that are removable and provide room for alternate seating options. Our current seats are standard size, which measures 16¾" wide and 17" deep.

The new front row of accessible seating have seats 30" across and 17" deep, and 22" across and 17" deep. If you have other accessibility needs, please email boxoffice@seattlepublictheater.org with at least 48 hours notice, and we will try to provide the most comfortable option possible. We can store any mobility devices necessary for patrons during the show and our ushers will bring them to a patron upon completion of the production.

Hearing Assistance

Currently, our theater does not have a hearing assistance system. However, this remains a high priority for us, and we hope to install and provide this system by the 2024-2025 season. Please check back here for any updates. Currently, we have a limited number of scripts to borrow from the box office to use as needed. If you would like to use one, please ask the box office when you arrive.
